Children in grades 2-10 Mondays at 1-2:30 from June 17 through July 15 Cost: $100 Honolulu Museum of Art Exhibit: July 20 |
A children’s ikebana class for children in grades 2-10 will be held at the Honoluu Museum of Art this summer. The class is sponsored by the museum and Ikebana International #56. This is part of our on going goal to nurture the coming younger generation in the art of ikebana.
We hope this is an opportunity for the younger generation of our members’ family and friends to share in and continue our love of ikebana.
The classes will be held from June 17-July 15, weekly on Monday afternoons from 1:00pm-2:30pm. There will be an open house showcasing their work along with other summer art classes on July 20th.
Flowers, vases, kenzan and scissors will be provided. The children will be able to bring home their flowers after each class.
Instructors are Jean Marutani and Ethel Aotani with Pat Kimoto, Gail Atwater, Wendy Umino and Betty Tanaka assisting the young children.
Those children who wish to register can do so by contacting the Honolulu Museum of Art phone 532-8741 or go to their website for young artists classes.
